A Cornish language lesson and vegetable soup in Lily's – a good day! A long walk to the bus stop (and home) without leg pain – a good day! Beautiful fields all around: new mown hay in yellow hayfields, green kale ready to be cut (there are men in the field already), purple flowers – a pleasant journey. But why are there fields full of purple flowers? Can we eat them? Are they herbs for cooking? Will they be dried and used for confetti (for weddings) or pot pourri? Is it lavender for perfume? There is a shop in St Ives with sweet lavender soap. The fields are too distant to be seen properly. The heather is purple but we see that growing on heathlands (rough land).
