De Yow, seythves warn ügens mis Efan
Thursday, 27th June

Jorna pur wenjek ewa hedhyw. Crev ew an gwens ha crev ew an howl ewedh. Jorna perfeth ew rag golhy lianyow gwily. Tothter an gwens ew martesen hanter cans milder an our. Ma’n lien ow whedhy avel gool e’n gwens po maylys ew adro dhe’n linen (saw segh ew). Whethys ew taclow erel ewedh. Ma del dhort an gwedh war an gwels. Me a gavas diw blüven, an eyl dû hag y gila loos. An blüven dhû ew dhort chôk, dres lycklod. Otta bran formys avel lether “b”.

It’s a very windy day today. The wind is strong and the sun is strong as well. It’s a perfect day for washing sheets (bed linen). The speed of the wind is perhaps fifty miles per hour. The linen billows (swells) like a sail in the wind or is wrapped around the line (but it is dry). Other things are blown as well. There are leaves from the trees on the grass. I found two feathers, one black the other grey. The black feather is probably from a jackdaw. (There was a family in our chimney.) And the grey feather is from a wood pigeon – there are several of them in the trees all around. The jackdaw is smaller than a crow and a rook (and a raven). I like painting birds. Here’s a crow formed like the letter “b”.

De Merher, wheffes warn ügens mis Efan
Wednesday, 26th June

Hedhyw ma garr dhrog dhebm (ma tednys keher genam), rag hedna na ellama kerdhes dhe'n savla kyttrin ha na wrüga vy mos mes. Ma min hir dhodho.  Logojen vinek ew hei. A veu hei beudhys gen glaw - po ew legesser an gorgath ?

Today I have a bad leg (I have pulled a muscle), therefore I cannot walk to the bus stop and I didn't go out. In the morning there was mist or light drizzle from the sea, but in the afternoon there is bright sun. It was too cold for me then, but it is too hot for me now. I am a very awkward person! The dogs do not want to go for a long walk. We all walked very slowly round the garden. The lawn has been cut by my husband. We saw several things on the grass. There are lots of little green apples under an apple tree, but there are still some bigger apples in the tree. There is a black and white feather on a bank. It has fallen from a magpie. And what is this unlucky little animal? It has a long muzzle. It's a shrew. Was she drowned by rain - or is the tomcat a mouser?

De Meurth, pempes warn ügens mis Efan
Tuesday, 25th June

Pandr'ew gwell, plansow po bestes? Nag era vy longya dhe berna naneyl nan y gila. Saw ma plansow genam ha ma bestes genam magata. An plans melon ma a veu ro. Ma othom dhodho a gòsk en venowgh.

What is better, plants or animals? I usually buy neither one nor the other. But I have plants and I have animals as well. This melon plant was a present. I can't grow plants from seeds, so my brother-in-law grew an extra one for me. Now there is a race! Who will get the first melon? There is one female flower and several male flowers (but I haven't seen any pollinating insects). I like plants. They do not move to the wrong place. However, animals are often in a wrong place. Why are there old garden chairs by the steps? The old dog managed to climb up in the afternoon and he needed two people to help him get down again. He is very stiff (with arthritis) and half blind. He often needs sleep.

Etho, otta vy, ôstes en ostel rag bestes.
It’s Midsummer. It is the feast of John the Baptist. Sadly, I do not have enough time for any holiday. I traveled home all day – a long walk to a train station, three different trains (one delayed and too full because of a failure of an earlier train), then a bus and another long walk. My daughter came after that with her pets. She’s going on holiday tomorrow. Her daughter, my granddaughter, will look after the cats, but she does not want the dogs (one large and old, and the other small and young). And she particularly hates rats. So, behold me, a landlady in a hotel for animals.

Today we had lunch in a big inn by a canal. The canal is not wide. In the past there were narrow boats working on it. There is a narrow boat in the inn – you can eat in it. The owner is a brewery. It brews Badger Beer. There is a bag of little games for each child. There is a badger mask, black and white, in the bag. It is Mr. Badger from “Wind in the Willows”. I ordered a coffee – and behold! Someone drew a badger on it, in the foam.

“What is that?” asked the cat.
“I will investigate. Perhaps they need me to help them.”
The white thing in the big parcel is made of wood.
There’s a lot of cardboard in the parcel.
There is too much packaging.
What can we do with it? There is plastic too.
The white thing is finished now.
It’s a slide for the boys’ birthday.
They like sliding fast.
We found a bigger slide on the nearby farm.
There are swings there as well.
The boys love swinging.

Ottobma gravyans a'n bobel, pecar'a todnow,

ha trehys ew gen laser. Thew hedna pur a'n eur-ma.
Is the day today the first day of summer
or is it the middle of summer? It is a very long day,
for sure. There will not be a longer day this year.
The weather today was very beautiful - the sky was blue
and the sea was blue - very, very blue.
The sea was dark Prussian blue, dark blue, deep blue.
People were coming to the beach. The car park was full.
But I didn't have enough time to go on the beach.
I went to Swindon by train. There is no sea there
and there is no beach. Nevertheless, I did find water!
Here's a public sculpture, like waves,
in the middle of the town. It is called "Stacked Fountain"
and it is cut by laser. That is very modern.
