Sadly, I can't go to my art group in Lily's, Truro, today. I am not well enough yet. I'm a walking pharmacy! I went to the doctor's surgery yesterday about my bronchitis, and I have just swallowed eight little pills for asthma, one big antibiotic pill, and three other pills for my heart and blood pressure. Hopefully I will live a few more days and not cough on Friday and Saturday. What is so interesting/important about those days? Welshman Carl Morris will come to Cornwall to help us with ideas how to develop and improve our online materials in the Cornish language. He has good experience in Wales.

I found some old photos. "What is that?" I asked myself. It's a child, with a head, body and two arms. But where are the two legs? Is he legless? He is near the top of the door - is he very tall? He's my grandson. He likes gymnastics. The whole family likes gymnastics. There is a bar in every doorway in the house! And where are his legs? His knees are folded and they are up by his chest. Another grandson doesn't like gymnastics. He prefers cooking (preparing food). Here's a big pizza he made. There is cheese, tomato, spicy sausage, olives and mushroom on it.

I didn't go out again today and my old computer is broken. I can't find lots of photos. So I need to look for other photos. In March one year ago I took this photo in my garden. The weather was cold and there was snow on the ground. My pink camellias were not happy. Nevertheless, the daffodils were still standing (almost).  The weather is better this year in spite of the strong wind. In March a year ago I designed some cards for Easter. Now I should make some more.

What mishap next? My laptop died and I'm not very healthy either! However, spring is coming. I saw a big bumble bee and there are lots of flowers in my garden. The moles are very busy at the moment. Look at the lawn! We can't play bowls on it. The animals are happy with the weather, but why does the cat want to sleep on a plant pot?

A dream you dream together is reality.” Yoko Ono, Japanese woman, artist and peace activist. “Let nothing bind you in the world other than your highest inner truth.” Emma Herwegh, a German woman, writer and revolutionary.

Here are more sayings from inspirational women. Zaha Hadid was an Iraqi architect. Her buildings are not at all traditional or conventional. “I really believe in the idea of the future,” she said. George Sand was a French writer, a feminist. She was not tall or beautiful, but she was clever. “The future can awaken in a more beautiful way than the past.” Dr. Mae Jemison is an American woman, an engineer, physician and astronaut. She was the first black woman to travel in space. “Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations.”

Ma hebma ow rei sens dhe hy lavar: “Treys, rag fra ma odhom dhebm anodhans mars eus eskelly dhebm dhe neyja?” Benyn aral, Marina Tsvetaeva (prydedhes Roussek), a gowsas adro dh’ eskelly. “Frankedh ew eskelly  hepken mars ew anjei efan en neyj. War y  geyn thens poster poos.” Mary Kom (boxseres Eyndek) a lavaras (leverys), “Na wra leverel dr’osta gwadn, drefen benyn osta.”

Today it is International Women’s Day. There are many inspirational women, in the past and at present. Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter. A childhood illness and a later bus accident made her crippled. This gives meaning to her saying: “Feet, what do I need them for if I have wings to fly?” Another woman, Marina Tsvetaeva Russian poet), spoke about wings. “Wings are freedom only when they are wide open in flight. On one’s back they are a heavy weight.” Mary Kom (Indian boxer) said,”Do not say you are weak, because you are a woman.”
